We’ve generally all bought into a narrative of startup coming from programmers in a dorm room that create some game changing disruptive technology, drops out of school, and raises tens of millions in venture capital to fund a hoodie wearing army of hackers to grow at an exponential rate. The reality is quite different. In order to build ecosystems and training models, we must embrace what entrepreneurship really looks like in our communities.
