Georgia Site Partner Webinar

As part of a grant from the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation, we hosted a webinar on March 10, 2021 for Entrepreneur Support Organizations interested in leveraging the workforce development system to support their work. Below is the video of that presentation, as well as a link to view or download the presentation for reference. At the bottom of the page is some additional information for those of you trying to decide.

If you are interested in participating in the Georgia Mesh Network, applications are due March 31, 2021.

Applications can be accessed here.

Key points

Site Partners should focus on regional strategies.

Taking Region 17 as an example. Although the largest city, Albany has a population of 73,000, the workforce region serves a 14 county area with a population of 343,000. In Georgia, 0.41% of the population starts a new business every year. Based on this, there are 1,400 entrepreneurs that start a business each year in the region. To achieve a 50 entrepreneur program, an organization would be serving 3.5% of entrepreneurs in the region.

What percentage of entrepreneurs does 50 represent in your region?

  • Region 1 = 1.3%

  • Region 16 = 4.5%

  • Region 17 = 3.5%
