A Month of Momentum: Reflecting on the Make Startups Executive Fellowship

The first month of the Make Startups Executive Fellowship has been a whirlwind! Seventeen ecosystem leaders, dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs in their region, came together united by a shared mission to create opportunities for disadvantaged and underrepresented groups in entrepreneurship.

March 20th wasn't just a date—it was the beginning of a transformation. Our inaugural cohort of 17 ecosystem builders from around the country have learned how the workforce development system operates at a federal, state, and local level and a whole bunch of new acronyms—the intricacies of WIOA, how to land on their state’s ETPL, and the ITA cap for their region. It’s incredible to see the amount of work each of these leaders is putting into navigating an entirely new-to-them way of thinking about entrepreneurship and workforce development.

Yet, it wasn’t just about the challenges. It was the human connections that have blossomed, the kind that only happens when like-minded souls gather. The InBIA gathering wasn’t just a meeting; it was the kindling of lifelong partnerships and friendships. And with SCN coming up soon, we're ready for an even bigger gathering of ideas and dreams.

For Make Startups, entrepreneurship is an art form—a skill that demands nurturing and passion. Our collaboration with organizations that assist entrepreneurs has been a significant driving force for us. Together, we’re shattering ceilings and building bridges, ensuring that entrepreneurship isn’t just a privilege but a possibility for everyone.
