Martin Mechtenberg
Martin Mechtenberg (Marty) is the Director of Entrepreneurship Ecosystems for the South Bend - Elkhart Regional Partnership. He is responsible for coordinating with and supporting entrepreneurial activity in a five-county region, including technical assistance, access to capital, networking, program creation, and resource exploration. In addition to working with regional entrepreneurs, Marty is on the planning committee for IDEA Week, a judge for the McCloskey New Venture Competition, and a reviewer for the State of Indiana's Technical Assistance grant program for small businesses.
Prior to joining the Partnership, Marty worked for 14 years in architecture and environmental consulting before joining the City of South Bend's Department of Community Investment. There he focused on neighborhood-level economic development, small-scale housing and retail development and the creation of innovative community-facing programs for City residents. He still dabbles in design work and sustainability when he's not working on his 156-year-old house or planning his next camping trip.
